Business Membership Requirements

In order to join, a business must meet the following membership requirements:

  • The business is privately held (not publicly traded).
  • The business is headquartered in Broome County.
  • The business is able to make independent decisions and control its own signage.
  • At least 50% of the businesses's owners are local to Broome County.
  • The business is supportive of long-term sustainability in our region!

We welcome businesses from every industry! No business is too small!

Almost meet these requirements, but not quite? Please contact us. Depending on the details, we may be able to put your case before our advisory board for a decision. 

Definitely don't meet these requirements, but still want to help? We might be able to welcome you as an anchor.

Business Membership Cost

Annual membership fees are tiered based on type of business and gross annual revenue:

Less than $250K  $50
$250K - $1M  $100
$1M - $2.5M  $250
$2.5M - $5M  $500
$5M+  $750
*Discount rate for all artisans, artists, co-ops, and farms

We accept both electronic payments and checks! If you would like to pay electronically, you can do so through Wild Apricot Payments by Affinipay — just click "pay online" at the end of your application. If you'd rather pay through check, simply click "invoice me" to submit your online application without payment. Checks should be made out to the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition, with Be Local Broome written in the memo line. Our mailing address is:
