While Be Local Broome serves local, independent businesses, we all stand to benefit when our local economy flourishes. Regions with strong local economies see improved workforce retention, resilience to broader economic strife, reduced environmental impact, and overall better quality of life.

What is an anchor?
An anchor institution is a business or organization that, due to its size and impact, acts as an economic engine for Broome County. We recognize that there are larger institutions — institutions that we might not necessarily consider to be local and independent — who would like to support our efforts. We want to make sure that everyone who would like to be involved in Be Local Broome can be!
We ask that our anchors donate at least $750 annually for continued recognition, the same amount as our highest-paying business members.
We accept both electronic payments and checks! If you would like to pay electronically, you can do so through Wild Apricot Payments by Affinipay — just click "pay online" at the end of your application. If you'd rather pay through check, simply click "invoice me" to submit your online application without payment. Checks should be made out to the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition, with Be Local Broome written in the memo line. Our mailing address is:
